Sharing probe results

Uiprobe allows probe results to be shared by enabling public access.

Public access provides a read-only way for others to review visual differences without signing in or having an account.

Public access

Sharing is managed from the Share action in the Probe Inspector.

(Visual reference: Share button in the Probe Inspector toolbar.)

When public access is enabled, a public, read-only link becomes available.
Anyone with this link can open the probe and review its results in their browser.

(Visual reference: Share Probe dialog showing access setting and public link.)

Public access can be revoked at any time. When access is disabled, the public link immediately stops working and probe results are no longer accessible to external viewers.

What public viewers can see

Public viewers can:

  • view the canvas and visual comparison
  • inspect detected issues
  • navigate between markers and annotation cards
  • switch between probe versions

Public viewers always see the probe in read-only mode.

Limitations for public viewers

Public viewers cannot:

  • run or re-run the probe
  • switch to the home screen
  • modify probe settings
  • create, resolve, or hide issues

These limitations ensure that public access does not affect the original probe.

Public access and versions

Public access applies to the probe as a whole.

Viewers can navigate between historical versions and return to the latest version using the same controls as signed-in users, but cannot trigger new probe runs or create new versions.

When to use public access

Enabling public access is useful when:

  • reviewing visual QA with stakeholders
  • sharing implementation progress
  • collecting feedback without granting full product access
