The Figma plugin lets you send design data from a Figma frame to Uiprobe without leaving your design file. The result is a draft probe that appears in your Probes Overview, ready to be completed with a webpage URL.
- Sends design data from a single Figma frame to Uiprobe
- Creates a draft probe that appears in your Probes Overview
- Works with any Figma seat type, including Free and Collaborator
Because the plugin extracts design data locally, it also works for Free and Collaborator Figma seats without counting against your monthly API limit.
Authentication
The plugin uses the same Figma OAuth flow as the web app. When you open the plugin, click "Login with Figma" to sign in.
Sending a frame
- Open the plugin in Figma.
- Copy the URL of the Figma frame you want to compare. Right-click the frame, select Copy/Paste as, then Copy link to selection. If you're using Figma in the browser, you can also copy the URL from the address bar while the frame is selected.
- Paste the URL into the plugin's Figma frame URL field.
- The plugin validates the URL and shows a "Frame detected" confirmation.
- Click Send to Uiprobe.
The plugin extracts the design data locally and sends it to Uiprobe. A success screen confirms the draft probe was created.
After sending
From the success screen, you can:
- Open in Uiprobe — opens the web app where your draft probe is visible in the Probes Overview
- Send another frame — returns to the main screen to send an additional frame
Error states
If something goes wrong during validation or sending, the plugin shows an error message:
- Invalid Figma URL — the pasted URL isn't a valid Figma frame URL. Check the format and try again.
- Frame not found — the frame can't be found or accessed. Check the URL and make sure you have access to the file.
- Something went wrong — an unexpected error occurred. Use the "Try again" button to return to the main screen.
To complete the comparison, add a webpage URL to the draft probe from the web app or the Chrome Extension.
