This guide walks you through completing a draft probe by adding a webpage URL. Once completed, the draft converts to a standard probe and the first comparison runs automatically.
What you need
- A draft probe in your Probes Overview (created via the Figma plugin)
- A webpage URL for the implementation you want to compare
Complete from the web app
- Open the Probes Overview in the Uiprobe web app.
- Click the draft probe card. A modal opens showing the Figma frame URL (read-only) and a field for the webpage URL.
- Paste the webpage URL.
- Click Create.
The draft converts to a standard probe and the first comparison runs automatically.
Complete from the Chrome Extension
- Navigate to the webpage you want to compare in Chrome.
- Open the Uiprobe Chrome Extension.
- On the "No probe found" screen, click Select from drafts.
- Select the draft from the list. Each entry shows the frame name and timestamp.
- A confirmation screen shows the Figma frame URL (read-only). Click Create.
The draft is paired with the current page URL, converts to a standard probe, and the first comparison runs automatically.
What happens next
After the first run completes, results open in the Probe Inspector. From this point on, the probe behaves like any other probe.
