Figma authentication is used as the identity system for Uiprobe and to grant access to design data required for visual comparison.
Users sign in to Uiprobe using their Figma account. This means there is no separate Uiprobe login and no additional step required to connect Figma after signing in.
To compare a Figma design with a live webpage, Uiprobe needs to retrieve design information such as frames, layout structure, and visual properties.
Authentication ensures that:
Because authentication is part of the sign-in process, access to Figma designs is already available when creating or running probes.
When you authenticate with Figma, Uiprobe is granted access at the account level, as required by Figma’s permission model.
While this access is broader than a single file or frame, Uiprobe only uses design data that is directly related to probes you create. Design data is accessed solely for the purpose of visual comparison between a specific Figma frame and a webpage.
Uiprobe does not modify designs, write data back to Figma, or perform actions on your behalf within Figma.
Figma authentication is established when you sign in to Uiprobe and is used when:
Once authenticated, access is reused across probes until it is revoked.
You remain in control of Figma access at all times.
Access can be revoked from your Figma account settings. Once access is revoked, Uiprobe can no longer retrieve design data, and probes that rely on Figma designs cannot be run until authentication is restored.
Figma authentication does not:
Its purpose is limited to enabling accurate visual comparison.
