Re-run a probe and compare versions

Probes are designed to be run repeatedly. Each run captures a new snapshot of the comparison so you can see how an implementation changes over time.

Re-run a probe

When you re-run a probe:

• a new probe version is created
• previous versions remain unchanged
• results reflect the current state of the design and the webpage

Re-running a probe does not overwrite earlier results.

What changes between versions

Each probe version may differ in:

• the number of detected issues
• the type of issues
• where issues appear on the page

A version can also contain zero issues if no visual differences are detected during that run.

Switch between versions

Use the Versions panel to move between probe versions.

Selecting a version updates:

• the canvas
• the markers
• the issues list

When viewing a historical version, you can return to the latest version using the link in the view toolbar.

Compare results over time

By switching between versions, you can:

• verify that issues were resolved
• confirm that no new issues were introduced
• track visual regressions or improvements

Many teams aim to reach a zero-issue version before release.

• share results using a public, read-only link
• continue re-running the probe as changes are made
